A fundraiser in a voluntary organisation is responsible for all aspects of communicating and raising money, from individuals, foundations, corporations and the government. This calls for excellent communication and organising skills to develop effective appeals, grant proposals, campaigns and events. Being an essential part of an organisation’s success, trained fundraisers are highly sought after in the voluntary sector and can begin with an approximate salary of Rs 15,000, depending on the organisation.

The Institute of Fundraising and Philanthropy in Bangalore, India, builds skills and nurtures social communicators and fundraisers to effectively communicate and engage society in causes; while helping voluntary organisations raise resources and be accountable. IFP builds on training experience since 1995, arising out of skill-building workshops, custom-built courses and hands-on experience of adapting learning for over 1,000 small, medium and large voluntary organisations in India and South Asia.
